The Department of Electronic Engineering is offering prospective Engineering students an early opportunity to secure the required H4 in Leaving Certificate Maths in order to meet the basic entry requirement for qualification to our Engineering degree. The exam is based only on the content covered by Paper One of the Leaving Certificate Higher Level Mathematics syllabus and consists of one exam, for two hours. A free preparatory course takes place on March 27th.

Click here for more information … Mathematics Competency Test for Level 8 (Honours) Degree ProgrammesThe Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT) is holding a Mathematics Competency Test (MCT) for applicants to its Level 8 (Honours) Degree Programmes which require Higher Level Maths.
The purpose of the MCT is to offer candidates an alternative route to achieve this minimum entry requirement. The MCT is not obligatory and no extra CAO points are awarded for successful students. Those students that are successful will have met the minimum entry requirement of Higher Level Maths in Leaving Certificate Mathematics. The MCT is set at a similar standard as the Leaving Certificate Honours Mathematics examination. Students that have studied the Leaving Certificate Mathematics curriculum at Honours Level are invited to sit the exam. DIT will shortly be accepting applications to sit the MCT from those who have applied to DIT for a Level 8 Honours Programme which have a minimum requirement of an Honour in Mathematics. This course is designed for anyone with an interest in creative writing and storytelling. Students will explore various aspects of writing creatively and will be facilitated in developing both written and digital content for online platforms.The course will focus on developing writing skills for both fiction and scripts as well as creation of promotional digital content for multi platform delivery. Classes will be delivered in a relaxed environment and learners will be given the opportunity to build on existing and/or new story ideas.
The one year QQI level 5 course will encourage students to share and critique ideas in a supportive setting. The skills to create media content to complement written material will be taught, giving students the necessary tools to make self promotional material for digital storytelling.
