This programme is designed to introduce you to digital media design, interactive design and electronic arts. Taught by our own Creative Digital Media degree lecturers and students, our two-week summer camps consist of hands-on making workshops. You will learn how to create your own short films, including brainstorming and development from ideas to script, camera use, sound design, digital video, and editing. You will also create interactive multimedia electronic spaces to publicly showcase your work. These Universities are an excellent opportunity for students who are looking for a less academic and more employment-focused programme, usually with two internships, than those offered by the Research Universities. New Courses: CK121 Psychology and Computing, BA CK411 Data Science and Analytics, BSc CK707 Medical and Health Sciences, BSc Changes to existing courses a. Nursing - QQI FE quotas for entry into Nursing programmes have been revised for entry in 2017, with an increase of places from 9 to 20 in total across all Nursing programmes. b. CK120 Applied Psychology - New code allocated. Curriculum changes: the two first Arts subjects in Year 1 will no longer be available from 2018. The first and subsequent years will consist of pure psychology modules. c. CK101 - Studies in Music to be included in the available subjects, Studies in Psychology to be removed d. CK600 - From 2018, applicants will apply for a common CAO Entry programme, CK600. Students will decide on which of the 4 degrees to follow at the end of 1st year. They will be guaranteed one of their top two choices of exit degree. e. CK401 Computer Science - from 2019, there will be an additional requirement that students obtain an O2/H6 in maths to enter CK401. The Higher Certificate in Food Sales and Culinary Practice is a two year full-time programme that incorporates food retail business and culinary/kitchen practical classes that facilitate the development of knowledge and skills required to work in the retail food industry. The programme embraces food sales and culinary practice, food innovation development and practical culinary modules that are focused on products found in food retail and delicatessen outlets. The programme also embraces food retail marketing and customer care modules that promote enterprise development leading to future business creations. The dynamic and competitive nature of the retail food industry requires management skills that combine professional, entrepreneurial and strategic approaches. Against this background, this programme builds on the strong links between retail culinary practice and food business and will provide students with the opportunity to work in the dynamic food and beverage related industries.What are my… Career opportunities?This programme recognises the complex nature of the retail culinary, general food, beverages and related industries. It thereby affords graduates the opportunity to avail of a wide range of careers. The educational model used seeks to maximise the potential of each participating student.

Ireland has over 29,000 people employed in the MedTech sectoraccording to data released by Enterprise Ireland, and Ireland is the second largest employer of MedTech professionals in Europe. As many as 18 of the world’s top 25 medical technology companies have a base in Ireland, and 50% of the 400 MedTech companies based here are indigenous.
The Irish Medtech Association suggests that the MedTech sector needs to urgently develop capabilities and expertise in the areas of innovation, research, development and commercialisation. Click here for more information … Engineering Mathematics Examination 2017The Engineering Mathematics Exam provides prospective Engineering students with a second chance to secure the required H4 (previously HC3) in Leaving Certificate Mathematics in order to meet the basic entry requirement for qualification to our Engineering degree (MH304). The exam is based on the content covered by Paper One of the Leaving Certificate Higher Level Mathematics syllabus and consists of one exam lasting two hours.
