I work as a Disability Officer in Trinity College Dublin and I am organising a one hour information session during College Awareness Week on Thursday 24th of November for 5th and 6th year post primary students with disabilities in the Leixlip, Maynooth, Celbridge and Lucan area (and their parents). The focus of the session will be the Disability Access Route to Education (DARE) and specific changes for 2017 applicants. UCD Undergraduate Open Day 2016 – On Saturday 5th November 2016 from 10am to 4pm UCD will again host our Open Day for prospective undergraduate students.
This year we are hosting the event in seven locations, the central exhibition area in UCD O’Reilly Hall and programme and general interest talks in UCD Lochlann Quinn School of Business, UCD Sutherland School of Law, UCD Newman Building, UCD O’Brien Centre for Science, UCD International Global Lounge and UCD Health Sciences Centre. Each prospective student will have the opportunity to structure their own day by self-selecting which talks, mini-seminars, and exhibitions they choose to visit. The Main Venue – The UCD O’Reilly Hall will host the central exhibition and information stands for schools, degree programmes and support services. In the Conservatory in O’Reilly Hall, we will have a Parents’ & Alumni Haven where Parents, Alumni & Prospective Students will be able to relax and purchase refreshments. UCD Student Ambassadors will offer campus tours to our visitors throughout the day. Extra helpers will be on hand around the campus and in buildings to direct visitors to the talks. The new two year diploma course, which was developed in consultation with the local industry, will teach students the sort of skills behind the spectacular visual effects in movies like ‘STAR WARS’ and television series like ‘GAME OF THRONES’ using industry-standard software and hardware like Nuke, Maya, PhotoShop, Arnold and V-Ray. |
