The closing date for completed applications is Wednesday 1st February 2017 at 5pm. You are probably aware of the increasing numbers of students from the UK and Ireland who are going to the Netherlands, to study undergraduate programmes, through English.
Eight of the Dutch universities are coming to Belfast and Sligo next month, to meet students and their parents, to talk about opportunities, student life, entry requirements and financial matters (inc possible impact of Brexit). There is also a workshop, at both venues, with Careers Advisors/Counsellors. Importantly, the universities are bringing their current students to chat to you about what life is like studying in Europe. The two events that are taking place are in Belfast and Sligo. The new four year honours degree programme is aimed at students who wish to build their knowledge and skills-base to address the complexities of developing, deploying and managing technology for the agriculture and food sector. With a focus on design, numeracy and technology, students will be committed and engaged with food production and processing, and specifically with technology to enhance efficiency, sustainability and reliability. Technologies of interest range from computer systems, networks, data management and sensors through machinery systems to precision agriculture. Graduates of the Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Design will be highly skilled designers for work in a variety of careers in the fashion and textile industries. Graduates will have the skills to become Fashion Designers, Textile Designers, Costume Designers, Accessory Designers, Pattern Cutters, Stylists, Trend Forecasters and Fashion Buyers. Students who want to combine their passion for sport with sound business acumen and leadership skills now have a learning opportunity to realise both ambitions, thanks to a new honours degree course at Institute of Technology, Sligo. The Bachelor of Business (Honours) in Sport with Business is a new three-year programme which is now available on the 2017 CAO application system (Course code: SG147).
