Inchicore College of Further Education are holding a Drop-In Information Session on Tuesday the 6th of September in the main hall between 12pm-2pm.
The student/client will meet a member of the teaching team and/or guidance counsellor who will be able to give information on the course of their interest, progression information and will answer any questions they may have. Our Open Day on the 30th of March will show case the large variety of courses we have in the college, ranging from Business, Tourism, Pre-Nursing (including Children's Nursing), Assistant Occupational Therapy, Social Care/Studies, Psychology, Sports Coaching, Sports Exercise & Science, Furniture/Costume/Art Design, Theatre/Dance Performance, and many more. We also have several exciting new QQI level 5 & 6 courses which include Business & Psychology, Counselling & Psychotherapy, Pre-University Law, Craft Design and Drama in the Community. We have over 40 full-time courses to choose from, all progressing on to Higher Education Institutes in Ireland, United Kingdom, and Europe. Most of our courses are QQI level 5 and level 6 and many of our courses are Higher National Diplomas and we have other awarding bodies such as Royal Academy of Dance and Trinity College London. Many students also progress directly into employment in their chosen career. First of all, we have another round of Information Meetings taking place this Thursday the 22nd between 4.30pm-6.00pm. Any student who has recently applied for a course in Inchicore College will get an automatic provisional acceptance email and will be invited to attend an Information Meeting with the Course coordinator, who will give an overview of the course and answer any questions the students may have. Attendance at this meeting is not compulsory, however it is recommended as it gives the student the opportunity to meet some of the teaching staff, they will find out more about the course and they can ask any questions the student may have. If a student applies for a course this week, they will be invited to the Information Meeting this Thursday the 22nd.

The course will have a strong emphasis on process and design which will enable students to generate design ideas and to produce finished pieces of furniture.
Classes in metal craft and finishing techniques will give students opportunities to develop a unique range of skills. Students will complete work experience as an integral part of the course. The students will work with a realistic design brief to create functioning furniture for public use. Guidance will be provided to students throughout the course to assist them to achieve their full potential.
