The Trainee will complete 26 weeks classroom-based learning in Monaghan Institute and 12 weeks work placement in Combilift spread out over the course of the 9 months. The work placement in Combilift allows the Trainee to put the theory they have learnt into practice in a real working environment. Click here for more information ... The OEM Apprenticeship was launched in 2019 to address the demand for original equipment engineers in the machine manufacturing industry. It was developed by a consortium of industry leaders chaired by Martin McVicar of Combilift. You are employed by Combilift as an apprentice for the duration of the apprenticeship programme. You earn a salary while working in Combilift and studying a range of engineering related subjects. The skills that you will develop are highly valued by the Manufacturing Industry.
The OEM apprenticeship is a Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Original Equipment Manufacturing award. It focuses on the development of a range of skills such as Engineering Drawing Electrical and Electronic Technology, OEM Practices, Mechatronics, Analytical & Problem solving, and Industrial Robotics. The adoption of the Tech Apprenticeship programme by industry has been quite phenomenal and since it’s commencement in 2018 already over 200+ businesses have availed of this new tech talent pipeline. How it Works:FIT will connect your organisation with fully screened, aptitude tested and interviewed Apprentice candidates You can interview from our talent pool and select your apprentice or offer access to the programme to one of your own existing staff members as a development opportunity. Once selected, the apprentice will start on the Tech apprenticeship which is a two-year programme that combines off-the-job skills training with on-the-job application, culminating in the attainment of a QQI Level 6 Award as part of the national apprenticeship programme. In addition there is a €4,000 grant for each apprentice you take on. This grant is also available if the apprentice is an existing staff member. All of the job training, certification and exams are fully government funded. If you foresee an expansion or addition to your Cyber Team over the next two years, the Apprentice programme is the answer to your staffing needs.
