This two year Radio Course covers everything about radio from how to hold a microphone to how set up a Radio Station. You will learn about music radio programming, presenting, features, news and documentaries.
Initially you will be working on the internal college Radio station. Later you will be involved in applying for a licence and setting up an FM Radio station broadcasting in the Dublin area. Working on dedicated internet radio stations and producing individual podcasts is also an exciting and integral part of the programme.
The course is closely linked with the radio industry with industry guest lecturers throughout the year and excellent work experience placements in radio stations. Graduates from this course have a strong track record of success in media industry working in all the major radio stations both on air and in production. The Radio industry generally regards BCFE as the leading college to study radio.

The Higher Certificate in Food Sales and Culinary Practice is a two year full-time programme that incorporates food retail business and culinary/kitchen practical classes that facilitate the development of knowledge and skills required to work in the retail food industry. The programme embraces food sales and culinary practice, food innovation development and practical culinary modules that are focused on products found in food retail and delicatessen outlets. The programme also embraces food retail marketing and customer care modules that promote enterprise development leading to future business creations. The dynamic and competitive nature of the retail food industry requires management skills that combine professional, entrepreneurial and strategic approaches. Ballyfermot College Officially Launches New Visual Effects Programme with a Masterclass by Irish Oscar Winner Richie BanehamBallyfermot College of Further Education (BCFE) will officially launch its new Visual Effects (VFX) and 3D Technology Programme this Friday with masterclasses by international industry experts including Irish Oscar winner and graduate of the college Richie Baneham.
The new two year diploma course, which was developed in consultation with the local industry, will teach students the sort of skills behind the spectacular visual effects in movies like ‘STAR WARS’ and television series like ‘GAME OF THRONES’ using industry-standard software and hardware like Nuke, Maya, PhotoShop, Arnold and V-Ray.
