The Medical Poland Admission Office has seen a steady and continued increase in interest in studying medical sciences in Poland throughout 2020 and the first weeks of 2021 despite global restrictions to travel, local lockdowns and public health risks. This trend is said to be caused by the growing number of Irish students going to Poland in recent years but also by an increased interest in health sciences among young people who are sensitive to the situation around them and indeed the circumstances, particularly limits to freedom they are experiencing. The Medical Poland Admission Office is running the following Open Days in the coming weeks: – Medical Poland Open Day: Thursday, 28th Jan 6.30pm (all medical sciences). 1. Online Route Students can study their Medicine degree online for the first 2.5 preclinical years and the final clinical years in UK NHS Teaching Hospitals. More specifically:
Students can study for a Medicine Degree while doing a Science related BSc degree in their home country (be it in the UK, the EU, or a non-EU country). They are required to attend online classes for a 2-month summer period per annum for up to the first 3 preclinical years while studying at home for their BSc degree and the final clinical years of the course will take place at UK NHS Teaching Hospitals. More particularly:
During the preclinical years, students will benefit from both live-streamed and recorded lectures offered by NVU’s British and Georgian professors. A question bank will help them to revise the theoretical sections of each subject taught in order to fully comprehend their lectures. Finally, a more personalised approach is offered when each lecturer spends time on a Q&A session. During the clinical years, clinical rotations will be conducted in UK NHS Teaching Hospitals. Students will have exposure across a number of medical areas (see below) and consultants will finally assess them using OSCE (Objective Structured Clinical Examination) method.

As much as we would like to meet everyone face to face, the social distancing restrictions that have been announced by all governments is highly respected and SME wants to put everyone’s health above all.

At EUNICAS, we are often struck by how early in their school lives some students have ruled themselves out of careers in the health sciences. “I’ll never get those sort of points” they say, scowling sadly at a far-off golden mountain. However, it is clear that – in Ireland – we are beginning to understand that high points don’t necessary predict successful medical careers. Often students with points in the low 400s, who have then studied in Europe, have become superb doctors, vets or dentists. We are even starting to meet students saying, after visiting a fifteenth century Italian university, that even if they get a place at UCC/UCD, they’d prefer to go to Italy!!! 02 April 2020 19.00 – 22.00 in the Carlton Hotel Blanchardstown https://omgdoctor2020.eventbrite.ie Whether you are in 5th or 6th year, or even TY, and want to reignite your dream of becoming a Doctor or Vet, or learn how anything is possible, if you it want enough, you should come to this event. Dublin Open Day is approaching – 2 Scholarships await you
Dublin Open day is just around the corner, April 14th 2019. All students and their families will be able to attend our Open Day event and visit our University kiosks to hear existing students’ personal and study experiences from each university in each country. A presentation will also be given by our SME representative explaining the advantages of studying abroad. Because of the high demand, a special chapter of our presentation will be dedicated to the 4 year graduate entry. Following Dr Anil Sachdev, a graduate from a University in Romania will share his study journey and career experience. Our presentation will conclude with a Q&A session and a lucky draw where two students will win a 50% scholarship each from one of our partner Universities for the whole duration of their studies. After the presentation, the SME Team and University students will be ready to answer more queries on a personal basis. If you haven’t registered yet, click HERE. |
