Dutch Applied Universities want to meet you in Dublin and CorkNow that Irish students are experiencing the quality of education in Dutch Research Universities, and the attraction of living in the Netherlands, they are turning in significant numbers to the more hands-on, employment-focused programmes, taught through English, in the Applied Universities (Universities of Applied Sciences, UAS) which offer programmes in:
Physiotherapy Game Design Business Law IT Engineering Art & Design Hotel Management Global Development Music Music & Media Management Sports Management and many more These universities are coming to Ireland in a series of events, offering students and their families the opportunity to meet the universities and Irish students who are studying there. The next events are the ‘Dutch Gateways to Employment’ events in Dublin and Cork. Though Leaving Cert or QQI students will no doubt be immersed in revision in April, they might be interested to know that many of these universities take applications into July and August. Of course, it is an ideal opportunity for 5th years and TY’s to become familiar with these options, ahead of key decisions in the coming year. At these evening events, seven of the Dutch Applied Universities will be speaking to prospective students and their families. Co-ordinated by EUNICAS www.eunicas.ie , the evenings represent a measure of the growing interest in the opportunities to study in the Netherlands. Register for these free events here, for Cork https://dutchuniscork18.eventbrite.ie or Dublin https://dutchunisdublin18.eventbrite.ie Entry requirements are reasonable – 6 passes at Leaving Cert (2 at H4 or 2 at H5): reflecting students’ right to an education in mainland Europe and sidestepping the need to obsess about Leaving Cert points. Importantly, students with a relevant QQI/FETAC Level 5 qualification qualify for degree programmes at a UAS. Tuition fees are low: Eur 2060 p.a., with a 35-year low-interest loan form the Dutch government, to pay these fees. There are other loans/grants available for living expenses. Also, if you qualify for a SUSI Maintenance Grant, you can take it with you. This all ensures that it is often less expensive to study in the Netherlands, than in Ireland. Find out more about the hands-on learning philosophy at these universities, as well as the nitty gritty of details such as finance and accommodation. So, if you want to prepare for the globalised employment markets of the next decade, these events represent a fantastic opportunity to gain an important edge. EUNiCAS will also be available at the events, to advise generally on studying in the Netherlands Comments are closed.
