The Technological University for Dublin Alliance are delighted to have been successful in securing 25 bursaries from the 1916 Bursary Fund scheme established by the Department of Education and Skills to support implementation of the National Plan for Equity of Access to Higher Education 2015-2019.In 2013/2014 an average of 34% of all new entrants across DIT, IT Tallaght and ITB were from Non-Manual, Semi-Skilled and Unskilled Socio-Economic Backgrounds. Historically all three institutes have been at the heart of supporting individuals from areas of socio-economic disadvantage to access education. The geographic location of all three in areas of significant disadvantage gives the TU4D alliance the unique position to build on the success we have achieved to date in extending the opportunity of education to all. The 1916 Bursary of 5,000 euros will be awarded to 25 first year students in the next three academic years 2017/2018, 2018/2019 and 2019/2020 and will fund the entire duration of a student’s programme of study.
The 1916 Bursary Fund will be awarded to 12 students at DIT, 7 students in IT Tallaght and 6 in IT Blanchardstown.
