We are writing to let you know about our upcoming HPAT preparatory courses. Our course dates for 2018/2019 are as follows:

About Us: By Doctors for Students As newly qualified doctors and recent students, we are well placed to provide guidance to students balancing their preparations for the Leaving Certificate and the HPAT, insight into the third level study of medicine and an understanding of the myriad career opportunities available subsequent to graduation. 3. Course Content We offer a high quality course informed by our own experiences preparing for the HPAT whilst studying for our Leaving Certificates. Students participate in interactive presentations on each section, solve worked examples and receive a presentation on and ask questions about the application processes to study medicine, medicine at third level and career prospects post graduation. Students also sit a full length exam under simulated examination conditions to better prepare them for the HPAT in 2019. A detailed analysis of anonymised results is returned, enabling candidates to see not only their absolute score, but also their performance in each question and section, relative to their peers in the test taking population. 4. Interviews will be held on Friday January 25th. Apply early to ensure you get called for interview. Our next Information Evening on Thursday 29th November (Coolock Campus) will give Leaving Certificate students the opportunity to talk to staff and students about our courses and progression routes to Higher Education and employment. NCAD will be hosting free Portfolio Preparation Workshops and Portfolio Clinics on 10th January to anybody preparing a design portfolio submission for entry in September 2019. We understand that the application process can seem daunting at times so we are going to help you complete your portfolio in one day! Staff members and students will be on hand to take the mystery out of portfolio preparation.
This really is a unique opportunity to talk to the people who will be assessing NCAD Design entry portfolios and find out what they are looking for. Entry to all workshops are free, but booking is essential. The following Design Areas are offering portfolio workshops/clinics: Product Design, Interaction Design, Graphic Design and Illustration are running portfolio workshops; bring along your portfolio work to date and over the course of a day-long work shop in the Design studios we will help you complete your Portfolio. BA Moving Image Design – responding to changes in digital technology, the programme will equip students with a range of exciting and expressive ways to tell a story, communicate an idea or to create an emotive response. Students will have the opportunity to explore a range of media and approaches, including various methods of animation, motion graphics, special FX, interaction, live action, dramatic and short-form documentary filmmaking. Moving Image Design will be offered through the Department of Communication Design which also offers a BA Degree in Graphic Design and a BA Degree in Illustration.
