Based on years of development and student/industry feedback, applicants can now apply for a learning pathway that allows them to develop as musicians, as well as learning about the production and creation of music and audio. This new pathway: Music Practice (as opposed to music performance) enables performers to use technology creatively. This is a new and unique approach focused on music performance and technological development. All applicants to the CAO this year will be contacted by our Admissions Office about this new pathway. This course is one third theory, practice and context, and it explores the development of media and its evolution in to the digital era. It examines ways to both create and better understand visual and written communication in a digital culture. In year 3, students have a 20 week work placement and get the opportunity to work in the media industry or study abroad as an Erasmus student. The Programme offers a sustained creative pathway enabling and enhancing the production of music and audio. This ethos of creativity linked with technical prowess is core to all modules which will focus on industry standard tools and processes, and learning the ability to work with artists and clients.
