The Access to Apprenticeship Programme is being developed on a pilot basis by DIT’s College of Engineering and Built Environment in partnership with J.P Morgan and ESB.Access to Apprenticeship aims to support the transition of students (16-24 years old) from areas of economic disadvantage into an apprenticeship scheme. This skills sampling programme will run in three terms of 12 weeks, each term will have 16 students, to begin in September ’17, January ’18 and April ’18. The 48 students in total will be recruited from areas of socio-economic disadvantage in Dublin and will spend 10 weeks at Dublin Institute of Technology Bolton Street. Each term will also include 2 weeks of work experience which will be provided to students by a panel of employers working in many areas of apprenticeship.
Timeline The three 12 week programmes will begin in September 2017, January 2018 and April 2018. Applications are now open for the April 2018 programme. Comments are closed.
