As the second largest provider of third level education in the country, we have a lot to offer your students. We will be hosting Open Days for school leavers on the 30th November and 1st December where we will be sharing with you and your students what it means to be a student and graduate of DIT, and from January – TU Dublin.
Throughout the Open Day, students will get the opportunity to hear a range of talks and discussions about areas of study or career paths they may be considering. There will be a large number of lecturers and students available to speak with you and your students about course details, work placements, study abroad options and career opportunities. We’ve added some great new workshops that will help your students with their course choice and in their transition to third level. The following workshops are taking place between Friday and Saturday: Making a Good Course Choice - Making informed choices - what to consider when choosing a college course Study Skills Workshops (Concentration Strategies, Good Notetaking, Getting Organised, Memory: Revision & Exam Preparation) Parents’ Information & Accommodation (CAO explained, tips & advice on accommodation, college costs etc.) Perhaps what will be of most interest to your students this Open Day, is the news that DIT, IT Blanchardstown and IT Tallaght will become Ireland’s first Technological University on 1 January 2019. With approximately 28,500 students, TU Dublin will offer a range of educational opportunities from Apprenticeship to PhD with an emphasis on practice-based education, allowing students to apply theory to real-world challenges through problem-based learning. For more information on the Open Day and for the full schedule of talks please see www.dit.ie/openday.
